Alḥamdulillāh, the beginning of Dhul-Ḥijjah has been announced and ‘Īd al-Aḍḥā will be on Saturday 9th July, In shā Allāh.
We’re happy to announce that we are now able to open doors for Ṣalāt al-Jumu’ah on a weekly basis. The Khuṭbah will be delivered in English and will begin at 1:15pm and last approximately 20mins.
Alḥamdulillāh after a lengthy process, LMC have managed to finally secure an excellent building in Loughborough for the purposes of a much needed Community Centre. It is situated in the heart of the Muslim community and will be an invaluable central hub.
Patience and Taqwa are mentioned together and named as ‘the great matters’. These two qualities are used synonymously in the Qur’an and the people of knowledge in the past mentioned the reason for this being that patience is required for everything that a Muslim does from goodness and everything he stays away from that is bad for him.
In light of the current epidemic around the globe, it seems that there will be no country and community except that it might be touched by the passing away of people and the effects that will be felt as a result. As Muslims, it is enjoined upon us to remind ourselves about this and prepare for it.
The Messenger of Allah, may peace and blessings be upon him, related many supplications to his companions and urged the Muslims to recite them in the morning and evening for protection from all harms and ills, the general meaning of which includes protection from being stricken by various diseases and epidemics.

Many of us are likely aware of the current outbreak of a new strain of Coronavirus, COVID-19. However, not much seems to have been written about how you and I, from an Islamic perspective, should respond to the seemingly growing threat, nor how the Messenger of Allah, may peace and blessings be upon him, may have responded to such an event. This article aims to put forward some practical advice for our communities to help us better cope with the situation we find ourselves in.
